The Internet has become the great equalizer. Searching for property online has changed the way real estate is bought and sold. Home buyers searching on the Internet has increased from only 2 percent of buyers in 1995 to 77 percent in 2005. This Arizona Realtor loves to hear statistics like this coming form the National Association of Realtors. Why you ask? Before the internet buyers and sellers may have used a family member, friend or a local real estate company in their neighborhood to buy or sell property with.

The reason was pretty simple. This is a simplified explanation.

1. Everyone did primarily the same thing to advertise or to find listings. Realtors used the newspaper, the mls and the services of a printing company.

Realtors relied heavily on third party sources because that's just the way marketing used to be. A Real estate company can not start a newspaper with a readership base large enough to make sense financial because of the costs involved. I don't think a real estate company wants to spend millions for equipment and personal just so they have a media outlet. I think we can agree on that.

I have been marketing online for almost 11 years now. I have my own Website development and Internet marketing company that sells services to other real estate agents across the globe. Many Real Estate agents here in Phoenix, Arizona refer to me as an Internet Guru. Why? Because I have leveraged my internet knowledge into a success real estate career.
